G'day
Hi Everyone

I'm new to MD'ing but spent some time as a hobby with fossils, minerals & relics so thought I'd finally add a metal detector to the gear I already lug around the province.

I'm based in Calgary. Luckily my wife likes tagging along on day trips or short overnighters so I get to get out pretty frequently during the nice summer days.

My detector is a Garrett ACE 250 with both 6x9 & 9x12 coils. Decided on this feller after reading everything I could find on newbie detectors & seemed like a good balance of price & "bang for the buck".

Look forward to getting to know everyone.

R

RE: G'day
Thats great that your wife likes to go with you. Because once you get hooked it will be alot easier getting out. Alot of guys aren't so lucky and at times makes for less hunts. I have never used the 250 but there seem to be alot of them out there. Upnorth uses on and seems to do quit well with it. Glad to see more new members to get the forum growing. Good luck and will be waiting for your posts. HH.

RE: G'day
Welcome Randy -
I use an Ace250 - and it is a decent starter machine.
Looking forward to hearing about your finds - It is fantastic on iron & copper - so if you are looking for meteorites, you've made a great choice!

Peggy
