I'm only so so with the pics, but I go macro setting and use natural light.

Definitely Macro, experiment with your camera's distance, but 4 inches is a starting point.

Light, definitely NO flash, Natural for sure, the sun is great, but some days it can be too bright, causes glare, overexposure.

Backdrop, piece of printer paper is nice sometimes. as here.

Then it's nice to crop off the extra. as here
