pinpointer choice?
I was wondering if there was enough of a difference in pp's that I should wait a week & order in a garret pro or pay less than 1/2 the price & just go pick up a Bounty Hunter pinpointer?

RE: pinpointer choice?
Hey Randy can't help you to much there as I don't know the price's. But I have heard good things about the Garrrett and have heard very little about the BH. I supose the good point there is I haven't heard any negative stuff about the BH either. I supose it come's down to how much you save and is it worth it. I have seen some people with a draw full of them none expensive ones. HH.

RE: pinpointer choice?
well really niether of them are very expensive I can get the Garrett for $140 plus shipping & have to wait a week or so to get it or I can go buy the BH today for $69.99 off the shelf. If they were both that quick & easy to acquire I'd get the Garrett probably because I've heard many good things about it but nearly nothing about the BH.

RE: pinpointer choice?
I have the BH pinpointer,It is a good pp but the sensitvity on a coin size object is 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch away on the most sensitive setting. Reports on the Garrett said 2" away.Thats my 2 cents.

RE: pinpointer choice?
I have the Garret - I really like it, and the sensitivity does go more like 2 inches - depending on how dry the soil is. I've never used anything else, so I can't compare it to anything.

RE: pinpointer choice?
I have asked the same question on a US forum; and a member sent me a probe from "Harbor Freight" (an online retailer), it costs $17 US
I tried it and it works great...can sense a dime at 1 1/4" which is pretty good.
Since then, my hunting Bud also bought one when he was vacationing in the US; he really likes his also.

RE: pinpointer choice?
This will be my second year with the Garrett and if the ground is wet
it''l go down to almost three inches.
Prior to that I used and still have as a backup the Whites bullseye.
Prefer the Garrett's rugedness and well built features.
Definately has speeded up the target finds.

RE: pinpointer choice?
I use the garrett, and you do have at least 1 1/2 to 2 inches of range. I don't know anything about the bounty-hunter pinpointer, though. As a rule they make pretty sturdy stuff.

RE: pinpointer choice?
I have Garrett, Whites, and Cen Tech Pinpointers.
The Garrett is all that they say, well built and it will go 2 inches deep. The only thing that I dont like is once you turn it on it stays on until you turn it off. Whites only works on demand, however the switch is the one thing that always breaks, the Whites is also a little thinner diameter.
I also have the Cen Tech, a lot cheaper and works good.
Depends on your budget and how much you will use it.
I dont have a BH.

I not only sell Tesoro.
I use them

RE: pinpointer choice?
I would like to say that I am really not aware about pin pointer, I mean what is the use of it and I am really interested in knowing about it. I will greatly appreciate any suggestions.
